Better Piecing With Rotary Cutting Templates
Instructor: Mary Huey, Mary Huey Quilts
Class Fee $10
To quote Marti Michell, "rotary cutting and strip-piecing techniques revolutionized patchwork." As a 20 year disciple of strip-piecing, I questioned the necessity of rotary cutting templates. What was the advantage? After working and teaching with them for the past 8 years, I'm an enthused convert!! Why? Good quality rotary templates increase accuracy of cutting which in turn increases one's accuracy of piecing. It eliminates the guess work of matching and common problems we encounter at the sewing machine such as snarled up fabric in the hole of the throat plate, unruly corners and bulky seams. Join me for an overview of the basics of working with rotary cutting templates and a show and tell of quilts that should be hard, but aren't thanks to Marti Michell's Perfect Pieced Template system.
